The Flat Stomach Diet

Are you struggling to get a flat stomach?

Do the clothes that fit you in the morning feel stretched and tight by evening?

Does your tummy feel heavy and bloated even after small meals?

Have you tried every pill, potion and diet on the market only to find that despite losing weight your stomach still remains swollen?

IF THE ANSWER TO THESE QUESTIONS IS YES, TAKE COMFORT IN THE FACT YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Abdominal bloating is not simply an inconvenience. For those who suffer from it, it can be extremely distressing and at times incapacitating. Quite often it is not taken seriously by medical professionals and dismissed as something that merely has to be endured rather than treated and cured.

Wanting a flat stomach is not always a simple matter of vanity. Abdominal bloating can be painful and embarrassing. When your stomach is constantly severely bloated it can undermine your confidence as well as your health.

But how often have you spoken to your doctor about your digestive disorders only for it to be diagnosed as just another case of i.b.s (irritable bowel syndrome) and offered no real solution to the problem? And although i.b.s. is an unpleasant condition to live with it is often used as a blanket term to cover every single abdominal problem from constipation to diarrhea, heartburn, wind and flatulence to name but a few.

It must also be pointed out that abdominal bloating can sometimes be a symptom of serious illness, however once this option has been eliminated by the appropriate medical investigations sufferers should consider the possibility that the culprit may lie in the food they are eating.

So where do we start?

In today’s hectic world few of us have the time to devote to creating the plain wholesome food enjoyed by our predecessors. We have come to rely on ready prepared meals and seasonings to provide our dietary needs. Unfortunately along with the ever growing list of convenience foods is the endless array of additives contained within the package. Much has already been written about additives, e-numbers etc and their effects on our health and it is not the purpose of this site to investigate other problems or

symptoms which may be related to them. The sole problem we are concerned with here is bloating and the possible causes of it.

For although in many people abdominal bloating and not having a flat stomach will be regarded as nothing more than an annoying inconvenience, rather like waking up with a nasty spot on your face on the day of an important interview for example. For others it can be far more worrying. The abdomen may be completely flat first thing in the morning only to become hugely distended throughout the course of the day. Some sufferers complain of looking pregnant by the evening and are often troubled by crippling painful cramps.

So what is the answer?

Well in most cases, just a few basic modifications to the diet are all that is required to get a flat stomach. Of course most of us are already aware that certain types of food are known to cause excess gas, for example: onions; broccoli; cabbage and beans etc but how often have you avoided these foods and still found your stomach swelling and your clothes pulling uncomfortably tight? You may have also tried other popular remedies such as peppermint tea and charcoal tablets which may help to ease the cramps but somehow never seem able to get to the root of the problem. So that leads us to the question about other possible causes of abdominal bloating and particularly the role of additives in our food.

But why should additives cause bloating?

Quite possibly because our systems are simply getting overloaded by them. Unlike the diets followed by our parents and grandparents, convenience foods play an enormous role in the lifestyle of today’s generation. In years gone by meals were far simpler and usually prepared using fresh produce.

Nowadays we are more likely to buy a pack of ready battered fish rather than whisking together the ingredients to make our own. Spaghetti Bolognese will probably be made with the assistance of a packet or jar of ready prepared sauce instead of blending the herbs ourselves. Even salads can be bought pre-packed with little sachets of dressings included. The corner shops and market places that were so prevalent a few decades ago have been overtaken by super stores with a massive range of mouth watering convenience food and drinks. It’s no wonder our meal choices have changed completely. So it’s probably fair to say that it isn’t necessarily the additives themselves which are the problem, it is the sheer quantity in which they are consumed that often causes the symptoms. You could therefore argue that to prevent abdominal bloating all you need to do is follow a strict diet using only natural ingredients. That may well work for you, however in reality it would probably make more sense not to reject all convenience foods altogether. Not only would that be impractical for many people, in most cases it is also unnecessary. As far as abdominal bloating is concerned we need only control the ingredient that causes the problem.

So how do we know which ingredient causes bloating?

Quite simply by a process of elimination.

The Flat Stomach Diet is a tried and tested plan that has been proven to reduce abdominal bloating by literally removing ONE SINGLE INGREDIENT from the diet. You can expect to see results in as little as 3-5 days and once you have learned how to control your intake of this ingredient you will be able to control your bloating PERMANENTLY and completely naturally without the use of drugs or any other type of medication.

The Abs Myth

Six packs, washboard stomach, or rippling abs. What ever you call it, we all want it. It is the envy of all men and the adoration of women. But it has proven to be as elusive to attain as can be. Is having a set of rock hard abs only the domain of the super fit and genetically gifted or is it possible for any regular reasonably healthy person to achieve.

Having an attractive set of abs is actually more to do with proper nutrition than it is to do with exercise. That brings us to the major myth in abdominal training in that you need to o hundreds of crunches to get that six pack. This is simply not the case, there is more to it than that.

As mentioned earlier, proper nutrition is integral in gaining a six pack. The reason why is simple. You may already have an excellent six pack but the best way to see it is to reduce the amount of body fat on your stomach. It is worth mentioning that there is no such thing as spot dieting or trying to lose weight just from your stomach area, you will need to lose weight all over your body to be effective.

You will need to keep your caloric intake down to reduce your body fat and show off those abs. A man needs approximately 2500 calories to maintain their body weight but you will need to eat below this and partake in more cardiovascular exercises, such as cycling or running. I personally feel that hitting a punch bag or shadow boxing to be very effective as you keep shuffling your feet and working your upper body as well in 3 to 5 minute bursts or whatever you feel comfortable with.

Even though you are reducing your calorie intake do not neglect your protein intake. A good rule of thumb is 1 gram of protein for every 1 lb. of body weight per day. So a 175 lb. man would need 175 grams of protein per day, any less and he risks losing muscle mass. Be sure to stay away from fast food and processed foods. Eat sensibly and include portions of vegetables in your diet. Try and space out your meals to 5 times per day and in smaller portions.

Crunches ae more effective ad cause less stress and injury than traditional sit ups. Try to do 30 crunches in 3 to 4 sets. There is no reason to do 300 crunches, as this wouldn’t make any real difference to your abs workout. With the proper knowledge you should now be able to get out there and get those abs of steel. It won’t come overnight but if you stick to it than the results will be seen sooner than you think.

Can Anyone Have Six Pack Abs?

Being that most people have too much body fat to see their abs at any point in their life, it may be difficult to believe that anyone can get 6 pack abs. But you can. It takes patience, persistence and hard work, but if you are willing to pay the price, you can indeed achieve a great looking 6 pack.

Now, patience and persistence I can’t give you, and nobody else can for that matter. what I can do is give you the 3 main keys to achieving a great 6 pack.

3 Main Keys of Having 6- Pack Abs

1) Strength training the abdominal muscles. Yes, the abs are muscles just like your biceps, or arm muscles. The abs must be trained in a way that actually makes them grow more muscle fiber. This does not make your stomach wider, but gives it a more lean visual appearance. Training the abdominal muscles also makes them prominent when you get your body fat lean enough. This is what give you the 6 pack appearance.

2) Cardio- Of course you need to burn off the fat from the stomach and love handles if you’re going to see your abs. Cardio is a great way to burn off extra calories and extra fat that blurs the definition that you can achieve in the abdominal region. I’m sure you’ve heard of the 4 pack? Yup, that really a 6 pack that is still slightly covered with fat. The person with a 4 pack can turn that into a 6 pack in about 2 weeks with proper cardio.

3) Dieting down to make that 6 pack shine like a diamond. Yes, proper diet along with the above 2 keys of cardio and strength training will speed your way to losing fat fast, and looking great on the beach when that shirt comes off. An efficient, effective diet is what you need- one that will provide the energy you need to get through intense workouts, but will still keep calories low enough to burn fat throughout the day.

Those are the 3 keys to having 6 pack abs. If you follow these 3 keys properly, you will have no problem getting that 6 pack- even if you’ve never seen your abs before.

What is all the hype about “core” training? And – more importantly – why should you care?

Training your core will result in tremendous benefits in a relatively short amount of time. This is because a strong core improves your posture, decreases your chance of injury, increases your power and functionality, and gives you a great-looking lean midsection.

Core training is rapidly gaining popularity for one specific reason: sitting leads to a weak core.

Think about your typical work day. If you are like most people then your day starts with a 30-60 minute drive to work, followed by 8 hours at your desk and then another 30-60 minute drive home. That’s a lot of sitting. And it all adds up to one thing: a weak core.

What is Core Training?

The term “core” refers to the muscles of your abdominals and those of your lower back. If you picture your body and then aim for the very center you would be looking directly at your core. The muscles that make up the core play a unique role since they provide stabilization for your entire body.

Core training seeks to strengthen the muscles of your abdominal and lower back using coordinated movement. A strong focus is put on contracting your abdominal muscles by pulling your belly button in! toward your spine throughout the exercises to ensure that your core muscles are engaged.

What are the risks of a weak Core?

Unfortunately many ailments stem from having weak core muscles. You may be personally acquainted with the most common ailment…lower back pain. Other problems include poor posture, being injury prone, having minimal strength and (drum roll please) a bulging waistline.

What are the benefits of a strong Core?

Alleviating persistent back pain is one of the most welcomed benefits of a strong core. An increase in strength and protection from injury are also nice, and who doesn’t love to lose inches from their waist as a result of tightened muscle?

Everyday motions such as lifting, squatting, reaching, twisting and bending will become less challenging after strengthening your core. While you may not immediately see the value in this, remember that it is better to be safe than sorry – who really wants to throw out their back while taking out the trash.

How can I strengthen my Core?

A great place to start is to practice the technique mentioned earlier – pull your belly button in toward your spine, not by simply ******* in your gut, but by contracting your abdominals. Do you feel it? Good. Now make it a habit to do this exercise while you sit. Like on the drive to work…at work…on the drive home – you get the idea.

It doesn’t stop there – you also want to routinely exercise the muscles of your abdominals and lower back. This can be done by performing exercises that target these specific areas such as crunches and bridges.

If you want to work your abdominal muscles but **** crunches on the floor, you’re in luck because there are so many alternatives to traditional crunches on the floor.  This article outlines 5 of my favorite alternatives to crunches.

When my clients master crunches on the floor, one of the first exercises I teach them from there are crunches on the ball.  So many people actually feel less back strain and neck strain when they use a stability ball for crunches.  One reason for decreased neck strain is that the angle of your body changes when you get off the floor and onto the ball.  If neck discomfort is one reason you **** crunches on the floor try them on the ball and you will notice a significant difference.

Another reason crunches on the ball are a great alternative to crunches on the floor is an increased range of motion through the spine.  When you move through a greater range of motion, you will get increased muscle work in your abdominals.

The second alternative to crunches on the floor is the plank exercise.  The plank exercise is a popular yoga move that has crossed over into fitness.  The plank is an isometric exercise balancing on your elbows and toes.  Isometric simply means that you hold one position for 10-60 seconds.  The plank is great for developing core stability, and it will strengthen your abdominals, shoulder girdle, and hip girdle.

The third alternative to crunches on the floor is seated medicine ball Russian twists.  In the seated twists, your knees are bent and your body is slightly reclined.  By reclining, you engage your abs.  Another benefit of the seated position is that there is very little stress on your neck.  If you are a beginner, it is okay to perform seated twists with no added resistance, or if you’d like a challenge use a medicine ball or weight to this exercise.

The fourth alternative to crunches on the floor is side bends on a 45 degree hyper extension board.  Most gyms have a slanted board that can be used for both back extensions and side bends.  Side bends help to strengthen the obliques and can really challenge your oblique muscles through a large range of motion.  I’d recommend side bends over side crunches on the floor because of the increased range of motion and intensity.

The fifth alternative to crunches is hanging knee raises on a Captain’s Chair.  Again, when you get off the floor you’ll have almost no pressure on the neck.  In order to perform knee raises on the Captain’s Chair you need to have some upper body strength to support yourself, but if you have decent upper body strength you can really focus on your abdominals during this movement.

There are literally thousands of ways to strengthen your abdominals, so if you **** crunches you can still get a great ab workout using the above alternative.  Strong abdominals are so important so don’t let hating crunches stop you from strengthening your core.

According to a recent study by http://www.acefitness.org, many 6 pack ab exercises are indeed a waste of your time and energy. So in this article, you’ll learn which 6 pack abs workouts are worth your time and energy and another critical piece of advice you should know if you’re ever going to see those **** 6 pack abs show through.

To cut a long story short let’s look at the what this survey brought back in terms of the least effective ab workout routines:

In last place, was using an ab rocker, closely followed by ab rollers and more suprisingly for some people, ab crunches.

Although we’ve been saying it for years, many people are led to believe that these ab workout equipment and methods are supposed to produce the best results.

It’s no wonder so many people are still slogging it at the gym and still going to bed with that spare band of ugly fat around their midrift.

What came out on top of the best ab workouts?

According to the same study, the most effective ab workouts were, in 3rd place, exercise balls, 2nd place captain’s chair and in first place was…

The Bicyle Maneuver.

However, the study went on to explain that you don’t need to purchase expensive equipment in order to get 6 pack abs , you simply need to know the right foods to eat, when to eat them and what types of other exercises you need to incorporate into your week in order to see results.

In fact, the Doctors involved in the study actually stated that a variety of specific exercises will prove to be the most effective in a) losing weight and b) forming well toned 6 pack abs.

So, before you rush away to find a guaranteed 6 pack abs workout, you should understand that in order to see yourself with a 6 pack anytime soon, you need to know what’s going in along with what’s being burned off.
